Cars they may have been a-burning, and people they may have been a-rioting, but petite, oblivious to it all this weekend, swapped her keyboard for a paintbrush, set her ipod on its base, and, rather randomly, decided to play albums by bands beginning with the letter K while she worked.
And it was very relaxing indeed.
albums by bands beginning with the letter K
Wot, no playlist?

You can’t ask a girl what’s on her ipod, it’s like asking for her age, or her vital statistics!
…
Well, maybe I’m overreacting. There was Kasabian, Keane, The Killers and (Miss) Kittin.

Very cute table-top bunny rabbits, but disappointing to hear that you like Keane…
Comment by Knecht — November 7, 2005 @ 1:20 pm
What’s wrong with Keane?
Comment by Hazy — November 7, 2005 @ 1:28 pm
I don’t much like Keane, as it happens. But I’d never listened to the whole album before, and was prepared to give them the benefit of the doubt.

They were under ‘I’ dear.
And yes, I realise that Miss Kittin should be under ‘M’. But isn’t.

What about Kyo? My (now separate) husband is a real Francophile and bought music on every trip – Kyo was one I really enjoyed too.

So I spy an Ikea table ?
Comment by P in France — November 7, 2005 @ 5:01 pm
Indeed. And it’s value just doubled as the paint cost more than the table and two chairs originally did!
Comment by petite — November 7, 2005 @ 5:30 pm
That’s called “customising”……I think !
Comment by P in France — November 7, 2005 @ 7:30 pm
Bizarre … my dining room table is covered in half painted bits of the £9 (sorry, you’ll have to do the currency conversion) Ikea toy box which I’m doing as a (very cheap yet incredibly ‘special’) Christmas present.
I hope you’ve sprayed copious amounts of matt (shiny is evil) varnish on the top! It’s heart-breaking to see your labour of love get wiped away with the stuck-on fish-fingers!

Hmmm! A lovely domestic scene. But just a teeny weeny touch of the Marie Antionettete’s?
Comment by fella — November 8, 2005 @ 1:41 am
I agree, fella. Petite, what were you thinking? Put down your paintbrush and go out and solve this pesky rioting.
Comment by Jim in Rennes — November 8, 2005 @ 1:51 pm
I shall arm myself with a can of spray varnish and hit the banlieue this very night. They won’t know what’s hit ’em…

Should give them an attractive, hardwearing satin finish, too. Mmmm…
