We had some rubbish where we had to read a dialogue between 2 teenagers who were debating going to see the musical "Hair". Sadly, pas de clochards.

Salut la Petite

We had Hexagone, a load of rubbish which inspired absolutely no learning and which ensured that to this day there are Irish tourists of my generation coming to Paris who only find their way to the Pompidou Center.

Our French book in Junior High was pretty old--from the 60s, and this was the late 70s, so I think some of my fellow students thought French women still dressed like Leslie Caron or Twiggy. . .Worse yet they used to make us watch animated films of Frere Jacques just because they didn't have the budget to get something more age-apropriate!
Love your site! Haven't made it to France yet but want to go. Right now we have German director Wim Wenders filming a movie in our little Montana town--the only spot of international color. Feel free to visit my site!
