Oh bugger.
When we had fuel delivered for the heating down in the Lot valley last winter, I was handed a calendar.
I thought this was a bit like the Itlaian shops here in England giving out calendars to loyal customers as a form of free advertising.
Does this mean we'll get no more fuel this winter and we'll have to live using only the electric radiator? Or is les etrennes confined to the metropolitan areas?

Oh my god, you just reminded me of something awful. I forgot to buy my postwoman's calendar! Urgh, I remember the sign up a couple of weeks ago, and went out, as usual. When I got back, I finally read the sign and it turns out that that evening was the evening of the annual "have a glass of wine and buy my calendar" by the post. Now, I assume, we will have to watch out for late deliveries, or things thrown on the floor! Damn.

I would buy the calendar from Buis les Baronnies, no questions asked. Not for sx-factor obviously, since he is indicating that there's a disaster located vaguely around his crotch. No. For me, it's really a remarkable reworking of DaVinci's Man!

I brought it over in October. Oh yes, I'm organised. And yes, I could do with a reddy brek supplier too. It's ambrosia as far as Tadpole is concerned...

Where did you get the filling to make home-made mince pies ? Maybe you should quit the secretarial jobs and go into the import business and sell English specialities at outrageously high prices to English expats. (I could do with a Ready Brek supplier as my toddler eats it too and I've never seen it over here...)

I never came across "les étrennes" while I was in France... I guess it's a bit like the boxing day tradition over here, or the bonus you give to the milkman/paper boy etc...
